Electrical problem
1976 Ford Ranger V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic

I rebuilt the top end of my 460 big block. Only because my head gasket was blown. Well when I got it back together it wouldn't crank. I checked all my fuses, and I checked to see if it was firing I didn't couldn't even get a spark out of the coil wire. The wiring is all original and in pretty sad shape. I want to run new wiring but it has proved impossible to find a wiring diagram for my truck. I checked on a new harness but they were all way out of my budget. Could there be an easier solution to why it wont fire, or do I need to put the project on hold until I find a new harness. It's a 1976 ford ranger xlt supercab long wheel base with the big block 460 engine.

Will it crank? I.E starter engages and engine turns just not fire up and turn over?

Or does it not crank at all.

I.E no response to ignition switch?

If thats the case, with the ignition key turned on check for +12v present at the positive terminall of the ignition coil on the harness.
