After driving and running great for just a minute or so the engine just bogs down and dies. After setting for a second it will start again. I think it is a intermin. interuption to the coil and it fouls out the plugs. I dont know how to prove it. I had a problem with the charging wire from the altinator not being connected and the bat. went dead, but i think that is unrelated. I want to bypass the power to the coil, but idont know how to simulate the voltage and i dont know what will happen if i put 12 v to it.

I don't quite remember if this has electronic ignition or not. But you should check the ignition system carefully. The coil towers used to crack on those as well as the distributor caps. An easy way to check the coil is pull the main ire and walk it around in a cirle around the coil. If it's cracked it will follow the spark sideways. Kindof hard to do if you've never done it. If it has electronic ignition, then checkthe ohms o hte pickup coil, if it's over 700 ohms replace it. Also the boxes on the fenderskirt used to screw up and we would dump cold water on them until we got them inside and replace them. Also change your fuel filter and make sure you are getting good fuel flow as well as pressure to the carb.
