Hi. I have a 1993 Ford Probe GT with a 1995 Probe GT 2.5L V-6. This engine has about 40,000 miles on it and for some time now the car is difficult to start. The car will crank for 3 or 4 seconds before starting and the check engine light is on. I have changed O2 sensors, ignition, checked plugs and wires, distributor, cap rotor, mass airflow sensor, battery, starter, vacuum lines, etc. Any ideas what could be causing this? The fuel pressure regulator seems to fine, as is the Catalytic convertor. I would appreciate your help!! Also, I am putting headers on this car and 2 of the bolts that go into the head are stripped I found when I removed the manifold. Any advice on the cheapest way to fix this?

I have been unable to retrieve any codes. I cannot locate any facilities around where I live that have the Probe specific adapter to hook up to the diagnostic port. The check engine light does not flash, but is steady and never goes out. Exhaust does have a very funny smell like rotten eggs, but O2 sensors done.

Where would I buy one that would work on this car at a reasonable price? I have checked all my local autoparts stores to see even if there's one I can borrow, and they are all too new. This car is the OBDI, or older possibly. My local Ford dealers don't have the adapter any longer as there are no Probes in my area any longer!!!

This reader does not work. It is listed as all 2.5L except 1993 and newer Probe. I guess I'll have to try elsewhere to get this information. Thanks for your time.
