Engine Performance problem
1997 Ford Probe 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Manual
----------------------------------------------------------------
I have a 97 ford probe The ignition timing wont stay constant, could it be the timing belt tensioner or is the crankshaft sensor out of adjustment, engine starts but idles rough, when I rev it up the engine will bog down instead of increasing rpms. when I put a timing light on it . the timing mark jumps 15 degrees at idle. need help

I have seen were the crankshaft key way will eat away the drive gear for the timing belt causing the gear to move while the engine is running creating poor engine runability. Also check the system fuel pressure look at this video http://www.2carpros.com/car_repair_video/test_fuel_injection_pressure.htm next, hit the cat converter with a mallet. if it makes noise it could be clogged. check here http://www.2carpros.com/how_does_it_work/catalytic_converter.htm

Please inspect and get back to me please.
