Engine Performance problem
1995 Ford Probe 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Manual 152k miles
----------------------------------------------------------------
I have had this ford probe and recently it has been having some idle issues. When ever the clutch is engaged or the car is in neutral the idle jumps from about 500rpms to about 1200rpms and back (over and over). It does this constantly no matter how long i let it idle for. The only thing that seems to get the problem to go away is to reengage a gear. The car climbs threw the rps smoothly once it is in gear. And it has never stalled or caused a preformance issue from what i can see. Any ideas on what this could be?

Test the idle air control motor/valve and throttle position sensor.
