1990 Ford Probe heater doesn't work

1990 Ford Probe Front Wheel Drive Manual

the heater in my car will not turn on. I have replaced the complete unit with another one, checked the wiring that connects to heater and it was hot, but when connected the heater still doesn't work. where do I go from here?

check the blower motor resistor
