When we bought this car a few months ago the lights where dim. So we drove with the high beams on. Now when I turn on the lights the drivers side only comes on then when I turn on the high beams only the passenger side works. I told you about the dim lights because I don't know if the problem is linked. It seems a bit funny both sides would go bad at the same time.
