I HAVE A 1989 FORD PROBE GT TURBO I CAN GET IT STARTED THEN IT RUNS FOR ABOUT 5 SECONDS THEN SHUTS DOWN. WOOULD THAT HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH THE FUEL PUMP? I NOTICED THAT THE PREVIOUS OWNER CUT OUT THE FUEL PUMP SWITCH AND JUST TWISTED THE WIRES TOGEATHER I PULLED OUT THE RESET SWITCH AND NOTICED THAT THERE WERE NO WIRES GOING TO OR FROM IT WOULD THAT JUST BE THE SAME SWITCH?

Test the fuel pressure and see circuit below between the fuel pump relay and inertia switch
