Hi,

I have a replica of a 1953 MG TD. It is built on a 1978 ford pinto chassis and 2.3 lima engine. I have a problem which I believe is electrical. While cranking the ignition the car will fire up. If I keep cranking, It will continue to run. The second I stop cranking the car shuts off immediately.
I cannot figure out the issue. I have replaced the ballast resistor, ignition module, starter coil, and the starter for good measure. I tried to start it again and same thing. Any help would be very much appreciated.
Regards,

Geoff

What about the ignition switch
I would suspect and check ignition switch
but with key on it should supply power to coil and others

Yeah, I'm gonna try that next. I guess other than that all that is left is the distributor?
