ford orion 96 70 000miles 1600cc slow off the mark accelleration in all gears as if clutch is not releasing fast enough engine sounds perfect have to high rev to gain momentum confermation require or suggestion to cause also skill leavel to change a clutch never done one any thing to watch out for when doing

Yeah, it sounds like your clutch needs replacing. It does take skill and nohow to do it if this is your first time. I would buy a repair book for your car and read it over and then decide if you want to do it yourself or not. My 17 year old son changed the clutch on his Tracker by following the repair book, so it can be done. It's better if you know someone with experience to help you or at least be available to answer any questions. Good luck.
