Can you tell me what is involved in fixing a gas gauge that doesn't work at all? We have a 1989 Ford Class C camper, I am not sure of the engine size. Thanks!

Have you tried to find out why. It could be from a bad fuse to the fuel float in the gas tank. you could get a universal gauge and float setup from a auto store. but would check fuses first. It might also be a
broken wire going to the sending unit

Gauge problem is one that I do not want to have. As a girl I really don't know how to calculate mileage and gas. :) You must be able to address this issue right away. Good luck!

start with checking the fuses. Then follow the wire going back to the fuel tank. When you get to the fuel tank check for corrosion on the connection. Disconnect the wire and touch it to a good ground on the frame. The gauge should start to go up. If it does not then the wires on the gauge itself could be loose. If the gauge does go up then the sending unit in the tank is bad.
