changing crank bearings 2000 escourt zx2 sr

Can you change crank bearings without pulling the motor. It looks like you can get the pan off in yhe car but can you slide the bearings out by loosing the crank.

I'm not sure about that particular motor but I have replace rod and main bearings on a 2.0 probe with the motor still in. It had a lower block reenforcement section that had to come off but you shouldn't have to loosen the crank, you should just be able to turn it to get to the bearings.
