1999 Other Ford Models

Hello my car will start ( just) but will not go, it seams like the fuel is not getting through, I have just changed the fuel filter thinking that it was that.
but it is still doing the same thing maybe not as bad but it still wont hold its revs it is running really rough,
i am a woman so not real good with cars but really can't afford to get it fixed unless I do it my self
any help would be great
