1997 Other Ford Models V8 Two Wheel Drive Manual

I keep having to replace my muffler due to a hole that keeps getting blasted through the side of it from backfire .can you give me an idea how to fix this problem.

see what is causing the backfire on the engine first before replacing the muffler. it can be anything from an ignition problem to a valve problem.....
