Engine Mechanical problem
1993 Other Ford Models V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic 154k miles
----------------------------------------------------------------
The vehicle is a '93 Ford Clubwagon E350. Just after it warms up, the oil pressure drops off significantly. The needle burys below the low pressure line. As this happens, there is an increasingly loud rattling sound. Is the sound coming from the push rods and does this indicate that the oil pump is bad?

Thank you for your help.

Hi there,

it sound as though it is an oil starvation issue. Get the pressure tested with a master gauge, this will give a true indication as to the oil pressure. if low, it can be a number of things, including, oil pump, pressure relief valve, oil pick up, worn bearings, oil gallery blockage.
