1990 Other Ford Models dashboard heater gauge not working

I just got this truck it is in decent shape.
The temperature gauge doesn't work.

get a test light and go to your engine sensor for the guage. connect te tester to it and turn the key on to see if you are getting power. If it is the guage may go up, thtat wouls mean the sensor is bad, if it doesn't then the guage is bad..
