Electrical problem
1968 Other Ford Models farm t miles

how do you "flash" a new a new generator? I understand that you need to do this to magnatize the core and that the polarity of the voltage applied is important. This is for a farm tractor with a 6 volt negative ground system The system includes a relay type voltage regulator also new. the battery light is still illuminated.
help!

if you haven't got it done yet, the proper procedure is to disconnect the "F" terminal and connect a jumper from the armature-"A" terminal and hit the "F" pole on the generator. That is called flashing. Then reconect the "F" terminal wire. YOU might have burnt up your regulator by continually running the motor though.
