I have a 1956 f600 single axle truck. It starts but won't stay running with key in the on position. The switch tested good, the generator tests good, the voltage regulator was replaced. Any suggestions?

Hi there, jump 12V to the + terminal on the coil, start the engine, as normal, if it runs ok, the problem is in the ignition loom.

Thanks mhpautos. There is a resistor ahead of the coil. Do I jumper right to the coil or to the resistor?

Jump it at the coil, if it runs fine, I would be checking the ballast resistor next, as it well may be a faulty resistor.
