hi i have a 1939 ford street rod with a ford v8 gm alt. i have tryed resistors suppresser different plug wires. i've several different rod and no problems with them ! I;ve replace the alt and takeen of the wire to the alt and the noise goes away any ideas ? help!!!! thanks

you may need to put a resistor/condensor on the alternator to eliminate the noise. Also if you can and have a modern radio in your car. That will help as well.put a ground wire between the frame and engine and body and engine Your other post didn't say it was a one wire connection. What you have is an alternator noise from the voltage being put out. Try finding a electronic / electrical engineer around you they should know how to get rid of it. If this is a glass rod, you'll need a ground wire to the dash or radio.
