I have a 1967 Ford Mustang 289 small block engine. I have about 200,000 miles on the car. I need to replace piston rings and piston rod bearings on this engine. Can I do this job without pulling the engine out of the car?

Yep. But it will be more difficult than if you did pull it. You will still need to (almost) entirely strip the engine down... by then you might as well just unbolt it from the tranny and pull it out so you don't have to work around and underneath the car.
