Engine swap

I own a 1987 ford ranger v 6 2.9 liter truck with a bad tranny. I also have a tranny and engine out of a 1987 ford mustang 5.0 liter and I was wondering if it would bolt up?If the engine and tranny do bolt up what is the minimun and maximun year of the 5.0 engines that I can use on the truck. Thanx for your time.

I'm not sure if it will bolt right up, but if you or somebody you know can fabricate engine mounts, etc. It could be quite the project truck. Anything can be done with enough time and effort.
