At 13500 I replaced my spark plugs as preventative maintenance as well as ton keep the plugs from seizing. Is there any harm in not using Motocraft plugs. I realize the engine may run best on OEM plugs, but is there any harm in using the NKG Iridium IX plugs that I just installed. My justification in not using stock plugs is the longevity of the iridium. I have no preference of the brand, I just know NKG is a good brand for plugs. The new installed plugs are the correct heat range and have been gapped to the car's specifications. Thanks!

Hi there,

The Iridium plugs are a perfect match for your engine, but you should not adjust the gap on iridium plugs, they are pre set and should not be touched.

Thank you for the answer. The plugs were gapped at .03" when I got them (maybe messed up during shipping) so I widened them to the car's specifications of .052"-.056. Thanks again for the help.
