I was unable to compress the caliper cylinder while changing the rear pads on the car. Unfortunately the cylinder has extended to where I can not get the caliper back on the old pads. Is there check valve or system preventing the cylinder from compressing?

Hello,

To get the piston back into the caliper you will have to use a special tool.
You will have to use the tool and line it up with the slots on the piston and turn the handle of the tool. This will allow the piston to go back into the housing.
