I had a serpentine belt put on, and the mechanic used the wrong size, and didn't put it on correctly. The next day my car is overheating, the power steering doesn't work and the engine light is on. The belt was found to have come off. I took it to a different mechanic and he said the head gasket is now blown, and possible engine damage. My question is, do you think the incorrect belt size and placement possibly caused the blown head gasket?
