2002 Ford Mustang car surges while driving

Engine problem
2002 Ford Mustang 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 91.017 miles

when i turn on the car the car idles between 0-10 around 5. and the rpm needle moves up and down and causes the car to shake while idling. what could the problem be? and how can i fix it?

You may have a vacuum leak, get a can of spray gumout, spray the vac lines and maniflod area, when the idle changes, youve found the leak! You want the engine running and spray on the outside but do direct the stream onto the hoses, if it is a vacuum leak, the engine idle will change speed, then you have detected a leak, repair the vacuum leak and see how it runs!
Also, when was the last tune-up? Fuel filter? If all else fails, the IACvalve and or the MAF sensors shold be checked...
