2000 Ford Mustang ignition switch??

once in a while if you have to restart car several times (3-4) during a short period of time,car goes dead,no crank,noise or turnover.let it sit for 2 minutes,its starts right up.now it did it and has gone totally dead.Battery shows green dot,good charge, i replaced alternator only 700 miles ago . seems it could be in steering column,ignition switch, is there a common problem with these models?/ thanks
