2000 Ford Mustang alternator

replaced alternator on this car (my daughter's)...thanks for your help on that!

seemed to go well, however this morning she called and said that on the way to work all her gauges went 'haywire' then shut down. Her windshield wipers or radio wouldn't work either. I stopped by to check it out and took it for a spin, and everything seemed to be okay then.
any suggestions?

Could be an ignition switch issue but it would have to be checked out while it was happening.
