The car has an 8 cylinder engine and kind of coughs when driving, it has no power in 2nd gear

Ok what I would do is clean the mass air flow cleaner and only clean it with mass air flow cleaner. Also how old is the fuel filter and is the air filter clean or does it need to be changed? Let me know if you need any more help. Thanks.
