My key wont turn when its in the ignition. Ive tried everything thinking the steering column was just stuck and nothing. What needs to be fixed?

Could be a problem with the shift interlock system

i can start it but wont shut off. the black thing around key just moves back and forth replaced it and still doing same thing. did you find out what was wrong with yours?
