1997 Ford Mustang steam coming form engine on passenger sid

1997 Ford Mustang 6 cyl 190000 miles

Hi,
When i drive my car and the stop somewhere there is steam coming form the engine up towards the passenger side of the car. then when i add a little water to the radiator its all good.. could it be a thermostat

first make sure there is no holes in any of the water hoses

it could be the thermosat shut if so it will need replacing
