Engine Cooling problem
1997 Ford Mustang Two Wheel Drive Manual 10000 miles

Water leaked from on the top of my hood into the spark plug holes on three chambers. Now when I crank my car up white smoke comes from the exhaust. A mechanic told my to drive the car to burn off the water is that a good idea.

Do you think it could be a head gasket problem, it runs fine and the engine is not overheating.

Well it could certainly have a head gasket seeping but not caused by the water running off the hood. If the car runs and don't have any cooling system probs then I don't see any thing to worry about. But you can go to a shop and have the cooling system probed for carbonoxide which indicates a hg prob. But always a head gasket internal leak will be associated with other probs
