1996 Ford Mustang V8 Manual 110,00 miles

I have a 96 Mustang GT with a problem that has occured within the past 2 weeks. Everytime the car is coming to a stop and is put in neutral to come to the final stop, the car stalls. Having the car stalls obviously makes the brakes go out until you quickly have to turn the car back on to get them back. THe first few times it happeed, I didnt realized the car stalled and complained to the auto shop of brake failure. They didnt find anything wrong with them. I did however, have a stretched clutch cable that was pretty bad. Had that replaced and thought it would fix the problem, but it hasnt. The stalling doesnt happen everytime it is put in neutral. The car does idle pretty low (700/800) and I am wondering if it needs to be raised. I also was thinking a vaccum leak. Any thoughts before I spend $87 on a diagnostic?

Every car that is made after 1995 has an OBD 2 system, which means you, can just get a little hand held diagnostic tool for example you could buy this $40.00 tool

you will probably need the tool agine so it’s a good investment or Advance Auto Parts scans OBD 2 systems for fault codes for free too.

You only need one of those expense diagnostic tool tools if your going to get fault codes off OBD1 systems or high end makes like BMW, which can cost you about $4,000 for a good tool $5,000 if you buy the tool at the wrong place.
