Engine Mechanical problem
1996 Ford Mustang 6 cyl Automatic 120k miles

So i was driving my car and when exiting the freeway i noticed that the thermostat guage jumped to red and the car started to smoke. White smoke. When i lifted the hood the smoke was coming from the engine. right above the oil cap. i was wondering if this is a head gasket which is blown? any help. thanks
