Hi,
I just changed the head gaskets in my car and when we put it all back together and tryed to start it it didnt start and it had no spark. After having a mechanic come and take a look at it and checking anything we could think of and coming to nothing. It kept on blowing the ignition fuse (20amp). We then noticed that there was a crack in the bottom of the coil pack which we figured was the cause of the failure to spark. So I bought a new coil pack and hooked it up and turned it over and it didnt blow the fuce but it still has no spark? When I kept on trying it somehow cracked the new coil pack in the exact same spot as the old one.(Underneith the number 4 wire on the bottom of the coil pack). I am stumped and I dont understand what would cause it to crack 2 coil packs in the exact same spot.?
If you have any answers or advice it would be muchley appreciated.

Well if it keeps blowing a 20 amp fuse, use a voltmeter and test the volts at the Batt wire to the coil pack. It sounds like the wiring problem is one of the wires in the connector. Start diggin!
Did you change the condenser with the coil pack? Make sure it's grounded.

I just change the head gaskets. Still I have water coming out on exhaust. The engine does not over heat, but if I drive the car does not have power, it feels like a cylinder does not work. I check the spark plugs, the number 2 cylinder spark plug is black, the others are clean.
What shoud I do to find where is the problem?

You need to check that cylinder for spark and compression first. If you do have spark and the compression is good, then look at a fuel injector for that cylinder

Just changed a head gasket on my mustang and it ran great for about ten minutes then shut down. It idled good, did not overheat, and had good power. After it shut down it now just turns over and won't start. What really concerns me is a loud ticking noise coming from the after I turn it over a few times. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I have a 1992 ford mustang gt. The heater core is leaking, and I think I may have a blown head gasket. I have a chiltons repair manual for it. However, in some of the directions it describes parts that I don't even know what they are. Does anyone know where I could find diagrams with parts labeled for this car.

Get someone to help you change those heads n gaskets someone that knows so u can learn for next time. If your not sure what u r doin dont cus it will cost u alot later. Make sure u really ned head gasket work. Check ur oil filler cap under to see if any light brown color kinda muddy looking and also check dip stik if oil looks the same. Also chek for water leaks where head sits on motor. For the heater core in the mean time just unite the 2 water hoses that go to the heater core. Youll find them back side of engine compartment on the left passenger side. To my car I just used a metal tube cilinder and united both hoses and thatts it.I havent fixed my heater.

I own a 04 cobra, I havent figured out whats wrong yet but someone mentioned gasket head. I am not producing any boost, and I am having oil leak out of my air intake. The engine wont idle on its own with out dying. The car runs poorly. Is this what happened to your car? Was it your head gasket? If so, what did it end up costing you? Any info you have would be great, thanks.
