My cooling fan will only turn on if I turn on my heater or ac what is the problem?

That proves that the circuit is functioning. Is the car boiling over or the temp gauge going all the way to red?

As soon as I run it for a while it levels off for a while then it will begin to get hot espicially during the day I dont run it all day but yes it gets hot I thought it may be a sensor but also a relay?

It sounds normal to me. These electric fans are programmed to kick at much higher temps than the normal 195 f the thermostat. This one does not kick on until 221 degrees which seems too hot but it's designed that way.
