Air Conditioning problem
1990 Ford Mustang V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic

My 1990 mustang AC fan switch stopped working. I found the switch was MELTED. I replaced the twitch. When I run the AC or heater all speeds work but the wires connected to the switch get very hot. I replaced the blower resistor which was good but I changed it anyways. The new resistor works the same, The switch gets very hot and the car smells like it is burning with the new resistor installed. The blower motor runs and I get both full heat and full cold. NO fuses blow. It is obvious I am pulling too much current- is the blower motor defective and causing me to pull too much current? Besides the switch and resistor being replaced what else is there?
