When I drive my 89 Mustang GT with the windows down, there is a strong smell of raw fuel, especially from the rear (gas tank) area. I don't see any leaks, any idea what the problem is? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

will there be a smell with the engine off? or only with it on?

i would check the filler hose, and all the vapor lines for cracks, cuts loose connections.

also check the evap canister.
