built 302 alm heads comp cam when engine cold a load tapping sound cant tell if its from top or bottom end when warm still taps but not as loud as when cold? not manys miles almost new a later model 302 carb

Solid lifters? May have one or two that need adjustment...

Yep, the valve train grows when warm and the noise is less, I would remove the valve covers and re-adjust the valve lash.
