1970 Ford Mustang Alternator

Hi there,

The best way to check the alternator on the car is to first make sure that the battery is in good condition with a load test, ensure that the terminals are clean & tight, if that is all ok, start the engine and with a Volt meter check the alternator out put voltage at the main alternator terminal, you will want around 13.5 volts this should not rise above say 14 V with the revs stepped up, if this is out of range have the alternator inspected by an auto electrician.
