I attempted to start the vehicle after a period of storage. I installed new plugs (gapped to .034), distributor cap, rotor,(did not change condensor or points), new plug wires 7mm sized for a 390ci.

The engine is a 289, I went to start, it began cranking. I was waiting for the fuel to get up to the carb, I shut it off with the intent of cranking again. The engine continued to crank. I got out, pulled the accel super coil feeding the distributor, it still cranked over. I pulled the ignition and starter feeds off the (ignition relay by the battery), it continued to crank. I had to pull the positive off the battery before it quit cranking.
