How do disassemble a Ford 9inch rear axle

to start you will have to remove the rear axles. Remove the tire and brake drum , then you will see that the rear axle is held in by 4 bolts. Sometimes you need a slide hammer to remove the axle once the bolts are out. The 9 inch ford rear is the one on the left of the diagram. Once you have the axles out you willhave to remove the driveshaft then after removing the bolts holding the opumkin in place. you will be able to remove the pumpkin. remember the rear is filled with gear oil so be prepared when the fluid comes out .
