When accerlaerating quickly the car misses, but runs fine at all other times. I checked timing. It's o.K. I was thinking it may be the vacuum advance isn't working properly, but don't know how to check it. Can you help please.

Actually, I had replaced the accelerator pump in the carb a month ago. Thanks.

To check the vacuum advance. Remove cap and install a vacuum pump to the advance and apply vacuum to it and see if the advance moves, also make sure it holds vacuum. I would also recheck that accelerator pump and make sure it did not malfunction.
