I'm trying to change the alternator on my Mondeo, but cannot seem to get a ratchet on to the tensioner pulley to slacken the belt. There just isn't enough room between the inner wing and the pulley itself! Do I need a specific tool? The Haynes manual seems to think a ratchet would do it!!
