1973, ford ltd 80k original miles 351w eng.

Problem battery box rusted battery case wore hole drained contents of battery.

may mean nothing.

Installed new battery shelf and battery started up ran fine

shut off would not restart, went and got another battery auto parts store said battery fine but gave me another anyway. New battery from store did not do anything, no click or attempt to turn over.

ok, what I have done. Battery charged and ready to install.

Got another voltage regulator beacuse I did not realize in the beginning that the battery tray wore a hole in the battery, I originally thought that the battery overcharged and leaked on the bottom.

Installed new regulator no change.

decided it may be the starter solinoid replaced, no change in status.

so new regulator, not contributing either way to problem, and a new solinoied, what am I missing?

Also turn 4 ways, lights or anything no power.

looked at fuses appear to be ok. Any hints would be helpful

thanks

Sounds like its not grounded. Check both battery cables all the way to were they terminate, remove the ground at the block and clean the cable and the block, then get back to us.

Thanks for your help it led me to the correct repair. The battery cable was bad (ground). It did not appear as such but I turned on the 4 ways and connected the battery and they worked, manipulated the connection at the cable end and they went off.
