My fuel cap light has been on for about 5 days now. I noticed that my cap was not on about that same time. Since then I have filled up and have kept a watch on the light. I was told at the dealer that the cap should reseat itself once the cap was put on properly (I went just before my warrenty was up) and I restarted about 4 to 5 times. Well its been serveral times since I have restarted and the light is still on and my warrenty is over. Do you think it might be the gas cap that I need a new one? I uploaded the picture and made a small donation so if you could anwser I would appreciate it. I can't tell where it is.

Possible the cap is bad, inspect where th egas cap seals on the filler neck to be sure it isnt damaged, if it is plastic and chips the light will come on because the cap cant seal against the filler neck.Try Autozone, have them scan the PCm (they do it free) and clear the codes, see if that makes the light go out
