I had to replace the battery on my car and now my car will not rev-up past 500 RPM. I wold told that it could have flooded the engine when I was trying to crank it when the battery was dead, but I'm not sure about that.

What could be causing the engine to idle at 500 and only rev-up to about 750 when I push the gas peddle?

It sounds like the computer lost its memory. If it doesn't relearn, you will have to have the computer reset.
