Fuel line going from engine into fuel filter under drivers' side of truck along frame. Using the fuel line tool 3/8 size. I had to buy a second fuel line tool because I jacket up the first one. The fuel line will not budge. Have tried it with fuel filter mounted and unmounted in its bracket.

The fuel lines that connect to the filter should be quick connect fittings. No tool should be required.

Item 1 and 2: Fuel Tube Quick Connect Fitting Removal Note

1. WARNING: Fuel in the fuel system remains under high pressure even when the engine is not running. Before servicing or disconnecting any of the fuel lines or fuel system components, the fuel system pressure must be relieved to prevent accidental spraying of fuel, causing personal injury or a fire hazard.

CAUTION:
- Fuel injection equipment is manufactured to very precise tolerances and fine clearances. It is therefore essential that absolute cleanliness is observed when working with these components. Always install blanking plugs to any open orifices or tubes.
- When reusing liquid or vapor tube connectors, make sure to use compressed air to remove any foreign material from the connector retaining clip area before separating from the tube.

Press the tab corners to release the locking tab.

2. Pull the locking tab to the release position.

3. Disconnect the quick connect fitting.
- Push the fitting toward the tube to release pressure.
- Press the tab corners to release the fitting.
- Disconnect the quick connect fitting.

Sometimes dirt and grime can get into the coupler and make the locking tabs hard to release. You can try flushing them out with a little WD40 and then a bit of compressed air. Also, it helps to push the fitting towards the filter to take tension off of the locking tabs.
