2005 Ford Freestyle exterior temperature sensor

The exterior temp sensor reads incorrectly. As car is driven longer the exterior temp continues to rise. Sometimes reading well over 100F inthe dead of winter. Any suggestions?

inspect wiring to sensor and replace sensor if necessary
