My car accelerates by itself

I have a Ford Focus 2001, 100,000 miles, automatic. When I am waiting in a line with my foot on the brake it revs up like my I am pushing on the gas in park but I am not. When I am coasting down the road it accelerates every 45 seconds. I don't know what is wrong. :Cry:

Duble check the idle control valve as well as the cruise control system. I've seen malfunctioning cruise control systems just take off with the car.
