Acellerator pedal sticks

2005 Ford Focus ZX5 73,000 km
Accellerator pedal wont move unless i tap it hard in the morning when it is cold out.
Works fine after that.

Before you tap it next time open the hood and disconnect the cable from the throttle body, then see if the throttle body sticks, or the cable, replace the bad one!

thanks, i found the butterfly in the throttle body gummed up around the edges, took it off and cleaned it with carb-cleaner.Works good now.

I wish you had not done that! Fords use a teflon coating on thier throttle bodies...after a while, it will corrode! You need to use only a rag to wipe them out!
